Last swim of the year

This weekend was the last weekend for the Fruita Pool to be open. So we thought we would take advantage of it one last time. We went on Saturday and had a great time.
Daddy and Kendyllee just relaxing and taking in some sun while I put on my sun screen.
This is the funniest picture of Kendyllee. If you look close at her legs, you can see that she has her legs crossed a little bit. It reminded me of how pageant contestants stand when they are posing for the swim suit contest.
She loves her floaty. She can still touch the bottom and walk around in it. It just helps her keep her balance.
Once she saw these other girls in the pool with out floaties, then she wanted out of hers.
So we thought we would give it a shot. She did really well for a while and then she decided she was going to try and run to daddy. And I was not far behind her, but I ended up being too far behind her. She was only a couple steps in front of me when she slipped and lost her balance and went under the water face first. Now those of you that know me, know how terrified of water I am. I was scared to death! I felt like I was being held down and could not get to her as fast as I wanted. She just floated up to the top and was not moving at all. What seemed like minutes before I could get to her was only seconds. When I finally reached her and pulled her up, I looked at her and then realized that Owen was at the edge of the pool ready to jump in with his shoes on and all. She was coughing pretty hard, so I turned her over and let her cough up the water she had just swallowed. The life guards saw what happened and came over to see if everything was OK. I handed her to her daddy and he calmed her down while I gathered myself back together and then we put her back in the water without her floaty. I did not want her to be afraid of the water. Once she realized she was ok, I put her back in her floaty for a minute. And then she was done with swimming.
It scares me how daring she is. She does not understand that there is danger and that she should be afraid of some things. She wanted to jump into the pool more that once before I was ready. I am hoping this is just a stage and she will grow out of it. It is not that I want her to be afraid of the water, it is just that I want her to understand that she could get hurt very easily. Am I just a worry wart of a mom? Or is this normal?

Fun at the Park with Daddy

On Saturday, we decided to take Kendyllee to the park and have some fun. She is getting to the age that she wants to play on the toys and understands what she is supposed to do on them. It took some convincing on the tube-thingy but once daddy went in with her, she was ok.
I LOVE THIS PICTURE!! They are pulling the exact same face. How great is that?
Here she finally decided to do it by herself. What a big girl!
She has always loved the swings.

Kendyllee is cookin Pork for dinner.

While I was making dinner on Friday, Kendyllee decided she wanted to make her own dinner. She drug out the pots and pans and lids, then I gave her a spoon. She had the best time. In these pics you can not see it very well, but behind her on the rug is her pig and there were times it was in her pot and she was just-a-stirrin away. What a hoot she is!

What ever she was making was sure yummy, cause she sure did a lot of taste testing. And she was even kind enough to share some with mommy!
I love this pic, because her arm is blurry so you can see how serious she was about stirring her creation!

Aww! So cute!

I had to have these pics, cause Kendyllee never sleeps normal. She always is sideways with her arms or legs hanging thru the slats or her head is at the other end, or all of her bedding is on the floor and she is in her bed. So the these are very unusual.
Here she is waking up and wondering why mommy is leaning over her with the camera in her face while she is trying to sleep.

Putting all those teeth to good use

Kendyllee loves to eat corn on the cobb and now that she has 16 teeth, she can eat it very well. Here she is eating it for the first time all by herself. She was so excited and felt like such a big girl.
Here is her cobb. She ate all the way around it and then did not realize she needed to eat where there was corn. She was chewing on the cobb in one spot until there was blood on the cobb. Funny girl!

A Yogurt covered Kendyllee

Yesterday, Kendyllee was eating her yogurt after dinner and I had to go to the bathroom, so I hurried and went. This is what I found when I came out. These pics prove how little time it takes for her to make a mess. She is so proud of her masterpiece!
In this pic you can see her two new teeth she broke this last weekend. Hopefully we are done now for a while!
Notice her nose. It is also covered.

A must have

Those of you who know Kendyllee, know she loves slippers and crocks. Well we were at Wal-mart yesterday and the Department Manager of the Shoe Department asked what size shoe does Kendyllee wear. I told her a 4 and she handed me these cute Dora Slippers that are crocks and she has just marked them down to $1. I had to buy them. They are a hit. Kendyllee loves them. She wore them until she went to bed last night and then wanted them on first thing this morning.

Kendyllee's home made TOY BOX!

Kendyllee has accumulated so many toys, it is just not working very well having them in the entertainment center. So I started looking online at toy boxes, and HOLY CRAP!! They are very expensive and not sturdy or big enough. I even looked on Craigslist and there was nothing there. So I started thinking of what I could us to make a good sized and sturdy toy box for cheap. And here is my creation. I used a Rubbermaid Tote for the box and then bought some foam letters and decorations that will match her room. So I decorated the box, and then started on the lid. I wanted it to look like a bench, so I used some quilt batting and an old pillow. I covered the lid with the cutest Pink, Purple and Blue Butterfly Fabric, with lace around the edges. Then Owen helped me hot glue the cover to lid and PRESTO! A very nice, cute, cheap and sturdy toy box for our little girl.

We love Bath Time

Bath time at the Jensen house is very fun. Kendyllee loves the tub and playing splashing in the water and watering the bathroom. Here are some cute pics we have of her in her hooded bath towel.

Finally Finished

This is Owen's blanket that I made. It is HUGE. He wanted it big and that is what he got. It is 100 stitches wide and 175 rows long. It took me a very long time, but he loves it.
