We are GOING PRIVATE!

Since I have decided to use this blog as our family diary, we thought it might be a good idea to do the private thing. Please leave a comment with your email address if you want to keep seeing what the Jensen Family Clan is up to. I will block the comments until the 15th of June. That is when I will be making this private.

Had a Blast

So our date was so fun (except my complete lack of bowling skills). We went to dinner at a wonderful Mexican Restaurant. Then we went bowling and out for ice cream at Cold Stone. Kendyllee did very well with the babysitter. She went to sleep really well and things turned out wonderful. I was very unsure of Owen. He does not like to leave his little girl with anyone. So this was a major step for him. As we were pulling out of the drive way, he looked at me and said, "Are you sure about this? I think we should have just brought her with us!" I told him that this was my night with him and she would be fine. And I am sure glad that she was or this would have never happened again for a very long time.

Big step for Daddy and Mommy

So Owen and I are taking a very big step in our lives tonight. We are going on a date and we are having a babysitter come over to watch Kendyllee. This is only the second time that we have gone a date without her since she was born and last time we were in Rexburg so my parents watched her. So this is the first time that we are leaving her with a babysitter. I am sure that Kendyllee will do fine, she loves this girl. Lets hope.

Cotton-Eye-Joe

I downloaded this long off MP3 Rocket today and this is what I discovered. Kendyllee likes to dance to it like mommy used to in days back. (Mary, you remember.)

Dumb door

Okay, so remember that screen door I was so excited to have and I loved it. (Notice the past tense on love). Well this is what happened. Owen called yesterday after he was off work and told me that he was coming home. So I went out side to fire up the grill for our T-Bone steaks that had been marinating all day, leaving Kendyllee sitting in her high chair eating her Mac-N-Cheese with hot dogs and a home made cherry pie in the oven. Just as the door shut, I heard a "CLICK". Yep, it had locked me out! I walked around the sides of the house (in my slippers) and the door into the garage was locked, so I tried to open both of the gates and now I know that they can only be opened from the front yard. I thought about climbing over and even tried it, but the gates are way to flimsy for that. Then I remembered that I had opened our bedroom window, so I tried to pop the screen out and no luck. JUST GREAT! Now what am I supposed to do? So I walked back around to the back door and checked on Kendyllee, who was looking at me with a very puzzled look on her face, wondering why I was just standing at the door and not coming in. So while I was killing time waiting for Owen to get home from work, I pulled the weeds growing in the rocks, pulled the mushrooms growing in the back yard from all the rain, I pruned the flowers and then I sang songs to Kendyllee thru the new fabulous screen door that had LOCKED ME OUT. Then Owen came home and he needed to do a few things in the garage so instead of coming in the house he decided to get those done. So I walked back around the side of the house and started banging on the garage door. He could hear me but had no idea where I was. Then Kendyllee started crying so he really started wondering what was going on. Once he figured out which door I was at, he let me in and unlocked the door from the garage into the house and then I was finally in the house. Kendyllee still crying because she wanted more food and then the cherry pie was done. WHAT A NIGHT! 8)

Needless to say I learned a very valuable lesson last night. Use the door stopper thingy next time I need to go outside. What a Memorable Memorial Day.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to all the military men and women that are in our family. We appreciate your service and your sacrifice very much. I also wanted to thank their families, spouses and kids. I know they also have sacrificed very much. I love living in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! I love having the many Freedoms that living here comes with. The ability to choose who I am going to marry and the Freedom to worship as I choose and not have to fear for my life by doing so. I love living here. We love and appreciate all of you that have served this wonderful Country. Thanks!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy GrAnDmA JeNsEn!!

Today is Grandma Jensen's birthday. So we just wanted to say that we love you very much and are so grateful for all you do for us. I want to say thank you for raising such a wonderful son. He is such a hard worker and I know that he learned that from you and Terry both. He is a great father and a wonderful husband.
We hope you have a wonderful day and we love and miss you!

House make over part 1

This is our garage. As you can tell we are really crammed in this house. It is smaller than our house in Nampa and we are feeling the tight squeeze. As Kendyllee grows and gets older, we seem to be collecting more stuff that we need a place to put. We looked into renting a storage unit, and the prices for a unit here are insane. So we decided to just build some shelves and then all of our stuff would still be at the house and not in some storage unit that does not have a security system or even a locked gate.
BEFORE

AFTER

What a big difference. It is so nice to be organized and we feel so much less crammed. And if you look we still have room left over. That is something that I never thought would happen. The freezer in now by the door as well as the garbage cans. I love it. Now I can de-cram the house too. There were many times that Owen said he felt like his dad and was happy that he had learned these skills from his dad. So thanks Terry. I love ya.
Thanks honey for all the hard work you did on your "days off". I love you so much.

House make over part 2

Here is part 2 of the house make over. In this house we do not have Central Air, we have a swamp cooler. So to cool off our house we need to have circulation. I have been opening all the windows and then opening the back door and just putting the gate up to keep Kendyllee inside. But that was letting in the flys and bees. So Owen installed this door that has a screen that rolls up in to the top of the door. We bought a universal one that will work on our house in Nampa, just in case we end up back there. It is super nice and I love it. Thanks honey.

I now it is in here some where.

Kendyllee loves to play with her toys. Last night we had picked up all her toys and had them all put away and she was ready for bed. But then she decided that she was ready for round 2 and got them out again.
I wonder if she is looking for a certain toy.
Its gotta be in here some where!
Maybe its way in the back.

Our new rides.

One thing that is huge here in Colorado is biking. I have been wanting a bike for a couple years now and living here just made me want one more. So I finally made the purchase and then convinced Owen to do the same. I have been riding between 3-5 miles a day, weather permitting.
This one is Owen's. I told him that I would pull Kendyllee when I was riding by myself, but if we were going together then he could do it.
Here is Kendyllee's trailer. She loves it. She just sits back there and has a conversation with herself.
Owen's againHere is mine.
I had no idea how much work it is to ride a bike. When I was younger, I could ride for hours and hours without end and not ever break a sweat. Now-a-days, it kills me to ride down the road and back. The funny thing is that my behinder is what hurts the most. I guess that just means that I need to work super extra hard to get back into shape.

Kendyllee cleaning her room and putting away her cloths. NOT!!

Kendyllee has learned to be such a BIG help around the house. She always makes sure her toys are scattered from one end of the house to the other. She has recently found her basket of shoes on her changing table. She also figured out how to open all the drawers in the house. I am glad that her favorite drawers are the ones in her very own dresser. We are trying to teach her to put stuff away. Like putting her toys in her basket and she usually helps me pick up her shoes. We have put locks on the cupboard doors with the dog food and the cleaning supplies. Now we just need to figure out something to keep her out of the Lazy Susans in the kitchen. Any suggestions?

I lover her thighs. Sooo chunky!
These ones are so funny. Notice the sock monkey laying on the floor. Keep a close eye on it.
I asked her to put her pants back in the drawer and she did, kinda. With the monkey as well.
Stinking funny girl of ours that we love so much.

bUsTiN a MoVe

Here is yet another video of Kendyllee dancing. This girl loves music and loves to move to it. I love this video because she is just in her onsie.

Kendyllee is growing like CrAzY!!

I took Kendyllee to her 1 year check up on Wednesday. She had 4 shots. Not fun for either of us. I am always super excited to hear and see how much she as grown. So here are the stats.
Weight=22.4 pounds, 70th percentile
Height=29 inches, 50th percentile
Head=18 5/8 inches, 96th percentile
She is learning new things every day. Still crawling like crazy and has absolutely no interest in walking by herself. She walks along the furniture and when we hold her hands. We bought her a walk behind walker for Christmas. Owen got it out last night and put it together for her. She would rather push it with one hand while she is using her other had to crawl. Funny girl! I just have to keep reminding myself and Owen that she will walk when she is good and ready and not until then.
When we were in Rexburg less than a week ago she had 8 teeth. When we were at her appointment the Dr could see 12 and says she has 4 more that will be any day. HOLY CRAP! The Dr. could not believe she had that many teeth.

"SOMEONE"

-a mother is someone who thinks going to the grocery store alone is relaxing
-a mother is someone who never gets tired of telling her labor/delivery stories.
-a mother is someone who loves the smell of a soft newborn in her arms.
-a mother is someone who stays up all night with a sick baby and never gets a nap the next day.
-a mother is someone who takes thousands of pictures but can't find hardly any of herself.
-a mother is someone who loves her children even when they walk through the house covered in mud.
-a mother is someone who gains 60 lbs. while pregnant and STILL has more children.
-a mother is someone who prays everyday.
-a mother is someone who never gets tired of looking at her children's baby pictures.
-a mother is someone who has the flu but doesn't get to call in sick.
-a mother is someone who needs a date (or two) with her husband every once in a while.
-a mother is someone who serves selflessly everyday.
-a mother is someone who doesn't get a cookie because her child's got eaten by the dog.
-a mother is someone who can't help but smile when she looks at her children.
-a mother is someone that may be ordinary, but has an extraordinary calling.
-a mother is someone.

I know it is late, but I saw this on one of my friends' blogs and had to copy it. I want to appreciate all the mothers in my life. My mom, Owen's mom and all the other wonderful examples I have had in my life. Thank you all so very much for helping make me the mother I am today. I love you all.

Balloon

Kendyllee and I went to lunch with Owen today at Red Robin. On our way out I snatched a balloon for Kendyllee to play with on the way home. It was a fabulous idea. She had the best time with it. It was loosing its helium after she woke up from her afternoon nap. So she decided to play with it again. It was hilarious to watch her punch it. Otis did not seem to like it as much. She has also learned a new word. "Uh Oh".

Our baby turns 1!

Hope you are all ready to see some of the CUTEST PICS ever. Kendyllee had a very good birthday. She was such a good girl all day even with only having one nap. She liked seeing family and friends and playing at the park. Thank-you to all of you who came and celebrated with us. We love all the gifts, so thank you for those. She woke up bright and early at 5:20 am and was ready to start the party then.
Here she is wearing her tiara (because she is our little princess) with Grandpa Jensen.
We thought it would be fun to have family pics done on her day. So I went shopping and found us shirts that matched. We went to the gardens at the college. Since she loves wearing her sun glasses we thought it would be cute to have some pics with her wearing them.
Our little princess slopped her dripper!!
Lovin on Daddy
This is what true loves looks like
Showing the camera she is 1 today.
I am not good enough when her daddy is around. She is always all about him.
I look awkward in this pic but I loved the look on Kendyllee's face. What a goof!
Great Great Grandma Keppner.
She did so good opening her gifts. She reached in all the bags and pulled out the presents.
We are singing Happy Birthday to her
Notice how clean she is cause it does not last long.
Thinking this must be some kind of trick or somethingThis is only the beginning
BAM.
That is my little girl!!
My mom made her birthday cake. Thank you Grandma Nana!
