Let's just say that our drive home from Rexburg was AWFUL!! We ended up leaving the night before we had planned because of weather issues that were coming the next day. We had planned on driving the entire way home that night. Well, Kendyllee had other plans. She slept for a couple of hours until Ogden and then I put in a movie for her to watch hoping she would fall back asleep. We were on the other side of Salt Lake City and I was beginning to get really tired and could hardly keep my eyes open and Owen was almost the same way. I told him that I thought we should pull over and just stay in a hotel because we still had over half the drive left and Soldier Summit to travel thru. But he thought we could make it so we kept going. Being me, I kept telling him that we needed to pull over and stay some where. We made it to Provo and he finally gave in to his tired, nagging wife and pulled off the free-way. Just as we pulled off and was pulling into a hotel, Kendyllee thru-up like I have never seen her do before. As we flew into the parking lot, I unbuckled my belt and turned around because she was choking. Owen slammed it in park and bailed out the driverside door while I was unbuckling her, he ran around the car and opened the back passenger door and I kind of tossed Kendyllee to him. He stood in the snow covered parking lot with no shoes on and gave her the Heimlich because she was still choking. I then realized that there was a reason we had pulled off when we did. If we had stayed on the free-way another 15-20 seconds all of this could have been happening on I-15. Wow what a blessing the Spirit is!! We ended up staying in that hotel. While Owen went to see if there was any store or gas station open at that time of night, I put Kendyllee in the bath tub and began hand washing her car seat cover as best as I could in the sink of the hotel room. He ended up finding a gas station and all they had for any kind of juice was RED POWERADE!! Which was better than nothing. I gave her a small amount and that ended up coming right back up. NOT GOOD IN A HOTEL ROOM WITH WHITE TOWELS!! But I used them any ways. None of us got that much sleep that night. And the morning came very early. When Owen opened the door of our room and I saw a very snow covered car, I was not happy. The rest of the drive was not good either. Kendyllee had a fever and refused to eat or drink anything. Man were we happy when we finally made it home.
This is her the morning after the drama at Denny's, still saying ''CHEEEEZZE" for the camera!!
This is in Spanish Fork at the entrance/exit of Soldier Summit. Looks promising huh?? Our sick and tired girl. LITERALLY!!! Doesn't she look so sad?? This is how our drive looked the entire way!! So glad Owen was with me to drive!! This darn Semi cut us off and then we had to follow it for a couple miles. Not a nice fun thing to do when you have a sick girl in the back seat!!
